The San Diego National

Southern California had a great deal of rain just prior to the dates of the National. But, fortunately we had lovely sunny days during the show with a great turn out of pigeons, fanciers and visitors.

Also, the NPA business items will be published in the upcoming Quarterly Review. However, some pertinent information needs to be shared immediately.

In accordance with NPA Constitution Article lX, Method of Elections Section 3: The Sec-Treas: The Sec-Treas. shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. This vote shall take place when the Board convenes at the annual National Show and Convention held in the year between the biannual elections. At the request of a director or any candidate for the office may be called before the Board of Directors for interview and pledge himself(herself), if appointed to abide by these Bylaws in every detail, in the conduct of his/her office.

An officer brought forth a candidate, co-sponsored by two additional officers to be considered for the office of the Sec-Treas. Thus, the Board had two candidates for consideration. The possibility of hiring a Quarterly Review and Show Report editor, expert in the field of type-setting, lay-out and design, apart from the duties of the Sec-Treas. was considered.

After discussion of the candidates in question the Board made the following decisions:

Carol and Ed Pointer were appointed as the new Sec-Treas. of the NPA. Frank Povah was hired as the new Quarterly Review and Show Report Editor. This also resulted in considerable savings for the NPA. The vote in favor of these changes was 7-yes. 0-no, and 2-abstain. Steve and Noell St. Clair were also hired to serve an extra month beyond their contract to provide a smoother transition period. The NPA board wishes to extend sincere thanks to Steve and Nicole St. Clair for their good efforts on behalf of the NPA. Thank you!

The new P.O. Box Office and address for the NPA Sec-Treas. will be posted in the next couple of days
